This photo of Modern Aviatrix Tracey Curtis-Taylor saluting her successful Great Britain to Australia flight was found by Oceanne, our Junior Ambassador.  As can plainly be seen; Tracey has struck a pose very much like that of our Harriet Quimby tribute statue as designed by the renowned artist Peter Naylor for the HQCP in 2011.

Had Tracey picked up one of our leaflets during one of her visits to the Shuttleworth Vintage Aircraft Collection at Old Warden in Bedfordshire?

Committee & Helpers

Due to the change to stewardship under the DTM, I thank all members of the Committee and Project Helpers for their time and efforts with the project to date.

I hope that you all keep in touch, and perhaps be available to help again in the future.

Martin Young: Chairman.

Film Adaptation

The Harriet Quimby Story: Film adaptation by Dawn Brown - on DVD.

The DTM has a copy of a very good film of Harriet Quimby for viewing on the DVD Player.  The film has been made by aviation enthusiast Dawn Brown, with her daughter starring as Harriet.  It is well worth watching, if you have the time.

Departure of Michelle & Andrew Cooper

Michelle and Andrew, who were both active members have left the Project and Kent for ‘pastures new’ in Scotland.

On behalf of the Project, I thank Michelle and Andrew for their help and encouragement shown over the past four years.

Martin Young: Chairman.

Incorporation Into DTM

After successful negotiations with the Trustees of the Dover Transport Museum I am pleased to announce that ‘The Harriet Quimby Centenary Project’ is now under the stewardship of the Dover Transport Museum.  This move secures the future continuation of the project as an educational subject, and its long term objectives.  The move has meant that the Project management and financial structure has changed.

On behalf of the active members, I thank the DTM Trustees for their time and consideration in welcoming the ‘Project’ into the aims and objectives of the Museum.

Martin Young: Chairman.
